The National League for Democracy (Central) will provide Ks3 million each in the first stage for township executive committees for canvassing expenses as of this month.

Of the amount, Ks2 million will go to the township NLD executive committee and Ks500,000 each to the township women's work committee and the township youth's work committee.

The decision to pay the money was made during a meeting of the NLD's Central Executive Committee held on January 19.

"In making trips for canvassing votes, our party members had to spend money out of their pockets. We have to rely on donors. If there are few donors, they have to spend their own money. Then they have to run into difficulties. This is why the NLD (Central) will pay money raised by our parliamentary representatives to the township committees," said NLD spokesperson Myo Nyunt.

A report on canvassing expenses must be compiled in accordance with the procedures and submitted to the CEC by April 30. The township executive committees that can send their report in time will be provided money for the second time.
