Yangon Zoo displayed 44 species of mammals, 71 species of birds and 20 species of reptiles with a total of 1,400 animals from 135 species and the natural history museum and elephant museum were shown, said U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.

He said at the opening ceremony of the 119th Anniversary of the Yangon Zoo held on January 25.

Then the union minister observed and inspected the display shown on a per-screen basis, the 119-year commemorative festival stalls inside the garden, and the garden's beautification.

Union Minister U Khin Maung Ri, Yangon Region Minister for Natural Resources U Zaw Win, Social Affairs Minister U Htay Aung, Ethnic Affairs Minister U Saw Jacob Htoo, departmental officials and invited people attended.

The union minister visited the Shwe Than Tha Hein wood processing factory in Dagon Seikkan Industrial Zone, Dagon Seikkan Township and the Glorious Family rattan processing factory in South Dagon Industrial Zone 2, South Dagon Township to see and inspect the stages of production from raw materials to finished products.
