Vocalist  Ei Toe, son of famous singer Zaw Win Htut, was sentenced to 3 years in prison under Section 505 (a) according to sources close to court.

“Mayangone special court sentenced him on August 4. He was sentenced to  three years with hard labour,” said sources close to the court.

Security forces raided his house on September 8, 2021 and arrested him. On September 5, 2021, a group of people accused of doing home-made bombs were arrested in ward-5, South Okkalapa Township and later, he was arrested.

He was granted amnesty and released on October 19, 2021 but again arrested on October 20.

According to the statement issued by State Administration Council (SAC), he was arrested due to connection with five men and one woman accused of doing home-made bombs. Sources close to court said that those weapons seized during the raid were not belong to Ei Toe and so he was sentenced under 505 (a).
