Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) will set up a fund for the prevention and treatment of Covid-19, according to its statement.
The WHO declared the Covid-19 a global pandemic due to the spreading of virus in over 150 countries.
In an attempt to solve the possible economic impacts caused by the Covid-19, the UMFCCI representing the private sector, will keep a watchful eye on the prevailing conditions and cooperate with the government, relevant ministries and organizations, the statement says.
The UMFCCI will contribute Ks 100 million to the fund for the purchase of hospital equipments, medicines and other materials.
