The press conference was organized by the news information team of State Administration Council (SAC).

“422 peoples such as former president U Win Myint, former State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi, ex-minister Min Thu, former UEC’s members, ex-chief ministers from relevant States and Regions, former candidates and members of Party’s winning committee are being taken actions against involvement in “electoral processes, electoral fraud and lawless actions” as well as some of which involved threatening local officials,” said Khin Maung Oo.

He also said that the UEC is now scrutinizing those who involved in the relevant states and regions’ eligible voters lists as three times by using the same identity card. Currently, plans are underway to take actions against 2,169 peoples who had casted the vote “more than once and “voting malpractice” in the last general election with same name and identity card.

Concerning the election, there had been 1,077 cases in the general election 2020. The UEC charged 546 cases out of 1,077 with election law.

According to the records of Myanmar Police Force under the Ministry of Home Affairs 342 cases were charged, 194 cases were withdrawn and 10 cases were under counsel of legal advice, according to Khin Maung Oo.
