Two Union Ministers meet ASEAN Special Envoy separately

Deputy Prime Minister and Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Swe and ASEAN Special Envoy for Myanmar H.E. Alounkeo Kittikhoun met at the Sapphire Hall of PARK ROYAL Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw at 11:30 am on January 10, sources said.

During the meeting, they discussed the processes that will be carried out in cooperation with the ASEAN Alternate Chairman and the ASEAN Special Envoy for Myanmar to make progress in implementing the five-point consensus of ASEAN in accordance with the five forward processes of Myanmar and humanitarian aid issues.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister also explained the implementation of Myanmar's peace process and the current state of domestic political development.

The Union Minister for Home Affairs, Lieutenant General Yar Pyae met the delegation led by ASEAN Special Envoy for Myanmar H.E. Alounkeo Kittikhoun at the National Unity and Peacemaking Center in Nay Pyi Taw at 2:00 pm on January 10.

During the meeting, they exchanged views on issues related to Myanmar's peace process, peace talks with ethnic armed groups, actions on the five-point consensus of ASEAN and issues related to humanitarian aid.

The meeting was attended by member of the National Unity and Peacemaking Coordination Committee Lieutenant General Sein Win (Retired), Lieutenant General Win Bo Shein, Ambassador (retired) U San Lwin and officials.
