A Myanmar worker had his throat slashed with a knife by another Myanmar co-worker from a restaurant in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, after they had a quarrel, according to Malaysia-based Kind Heart Charity Organization. 

The incident happened on the morning of October 9, two days after their quarrel, and the assailant ran away.

As the victim had an invalid visa, there was difficulty sending him to hospital. Therefore, a family doctor was invited for his medical treatment after a discussion with the restaurant owner.

“The injury was not serious, but he needed stiches. So we went to the restaurant and told the manager for treatment by a family doctor. Now, he is OK,” said a statement released by the charity organization.

The statement also urges Myanmar workers in Malaysia to live in unity and not to show discrimination against each other.

In recent days also, an undocumented Myanmar worker in Malaysia died and the organization had to render help.

He was Ko Maung Maung, aged 42, entering Kuala Lumpur illegally. He looked for a job and arrived at a factory. He died of epilepsy overnight at the factory.
