Twenty-five new COVID-19 cases found in six townships in southern Shan State

A total of 25 infected patients were found in six townships in southern Shan State, according to a report released from PHL-TGI (PCR) on December 21.

A total of 25 COVID-19 cases: one from Mongnai, eight from Linkhae, two from Loilen, seven from Hopong, two from Taunggyi and five from Pindaya, are found infected. In a total of 217 tests, 25 cases were found, with an infection rate of 11.52 per cent.

Another 26 confirmed cases: seven from Taung Village, four from Ywar Ma Nauk Village, four from Dar Sake Village, four each from Wun Loi and Ywar Ma Shae villages, two from Pin Wong Village and one from Pan Kyaing Village, were found in Linkhae Township, Linkhae District, southern Shan State on December 21. 18 of them are found infected with COVID-19 using PDTs and eight cases using PCR machines, according to a statement from the Linkhae Township Health Department.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Health on December 21 at 10 pm, 42 confirmed cases were found in 14 townships in southern Shan State.

The highest number of cases was nine in Taunggyi and Mongtong, and eight in Linkhae.

As of December 20, 96 patients had been hospitalized in Linkhae Township, and 11 had died of COVID-19, according to the Linkhae Township Health Department.

Linkhae is one of the townships with the highest number of COVID-19 cases in southern Shan State, and Taunggyi and Linkhae townships in Myanmar have the highest number of COVID-19 cases.

According to a statement issued on December 20, seven out of 171 people were found infected with the virus in Linkhae Township, with an infection rate of 4.1 per cent.

From July 19 to December 20, there were 1,383 confirmed patients in Linkhae Township, with 1,276 patients recovering. Eleven people: three women and eight men, were killed. As of December 20, 96 patients have been hospitalized; 79 at Linkhae Hospital; 16 at Wanhat Hospital and one at Hongmai Hospital.

As of December 19, 21 COVID-19 confirmed cases were reported, and on November 26, more than 100 COVID-19 were found.

On December 9, 32 patients were found and 29 patients were found on December 10. At the end of December, the rate of COVID-19 infection was gradually reduced, and the oxygen plant of Linkhae Township hospital was functioning well to supply the oxygen gas needed by the COVID-19 patients, according to the township health department.
