The Phase-One of Yangon-Mandalay Railway Project is from Yangon to Toungoo and that it will start on October 1. The original two lanes system will be changed into one-lane on a temporary basis.

“During the project period, the MR won’t cut the number of train services for ensuring that the travelers will see difficulty in the travel. Regular train services will be provided to the commuters. We have planed to provide a parcel train to carry parcels and goods every day,” Ba Myint told the media professionals.

The Yangon-Mandalay Railway Project is divided into two parts—one is Yangon to Toungoo with 166 miles and the other is Toungoo to Mandalay with 219.5 miles.
