The list of successful candidates for the Placement Test (Special Programme) in Gangaw Township, Magway Region, has been released, according to local sources.
The Placement Test (Special Programme), introduced in the 2021–2022 academic year, was conducted for the 2026–2027 academic year beginning on June 15, 2026. The programme is designed to help children who have dropped out of primary and middle school for various reasons re-enter the education system by placing them in classes appropriate for their age.
The results were announced on July 1 at the Township Education Officer's Office and the Basic Education High School (Gangaw) examination centre, where students who had taken the test gathered to check the list of successful candidates.
According to the results, 27 of the 34 registered candidates sat the Grade 1 examination, with 11 passing. For Grade 2, 73 of the 108 registered candidates took the test and 23 passed. In Grade 3, 64 of 75 candidates sat the examination and 36 passed. Grade 4 recorded 18 successful candidates out of 110 examinees, while 41 of the 125 candidates who sat the Grade 5 examination passed. In Grade 6, only one of the 122 candidates who took the examination passed, while two of the 128 Grade 7 examinees were successful. For Grade 8, four of the 163 candidates who sat the examination passed.
Overall, 932 candidates from Grades 1 to 8 were registered for the placement test. Of these, 812 sat the examination and 136 passed, resulting in an overall pass rate of 16.75 percent.
