Access to the No. 1 Myanmar–Thailand Friendship Bridge between Myawady and Mae Sot will be temporarily suspended from 8 am to 1 pm on March 8, according to an announcement.

The Mae Sot State Electricity Department in Thailand will cut power lines during that time for repair works, resulting in a temporary suspension of entry for travellers using Myanmar passports and Temporary Border Passes (TBP).

Authorities have posted a notice at the entrance of the Friendship Bridge informing travellers that normal entry and exit will resume once electricity is restored.

More than 2,000 Myanmar citizens cross the No. 1 Myanmar–Thailand Friendship Bridge to and from Mae Sot, Thailand, each day.
