Tatmadaw don’t occupy in basic education schools in Yangon: SAC spokesman

Spokesperson of the State Administration Council (SAC) Maj-Gen Zaw Min Tun said on November 23 that military troops aren’t stationing in basic education schools in Yangon.

He gave the information concerning the rumors of military troops are now occupying in basic education schools in Yangon.

“It was rumor as well as false news. Concerning that rumor, I’ve already said yesterday.  Rumors such as schools are closed and forced labour are taking place appeared these days. There is normal patrol and security measures being carried out in Yangon,” said SAC spokesman.

Moreover, private schools in Yangon are also collecting private data of students and students’ lists of classrooms and therefore, parents are worried about that news. These rumors are also spread on the social media. Concerning that rumor, officials from the higher education department of the Ministry of Education said that there is no such collecting of students’ data, he added.

Spreading rumors on education sector intending to cause chaos among the students and the parents and to make misunderstanding on the development of the education by the SAC, it is reported.
