Tatmadaw (defence service) clashed with Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the armed wing of the Palaung State Liberation Front (PSLF) in a place in Kutkai, northern Shan State on October 16, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun, Secretary of Tatmadaw True News Information Team.

“It was learnt that the clash broke out at a distance of 5000 km in the east of Kutkai. It is near the east of Marnkyit village. The strength of the TNLA is about 20 members.

The clash occurred because they went into the side above mentioned. It started at about 6.45 am and ended after 7 am. It lasted for about 15 to 20 minutes, but no casualties were reported,” said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.

However, the information dept of the TNLA issued an announcement at about 12.30 pm on the same day, saying both sides suffered casualties.

The TNLA said the government forces came to launch the offensive against them in the place between Marnset and Naung Pike villages in Kutkai, northern Shan State and the launching attack started at 6.15 am and ended at about 7.30 am.

The attack broke out between the government army and the combined force of the TNLA and the MNDAA in a place, the southeast of Nanthsalat village in the east of Hsenwi in northern Shan State on October 15, said Brig-Gen Zaw Min Tun.
