State Administration Council Chairman Senior General Min Aung Hlaing concludes state-level friendship visits to Russia and Belarus, returns to Nay Pyi Taw

Chairman of the State Administration Council Prime Minister Senior General Min Aung Hlaing has returned to Nay Pyi Taw today after completing state-level friendship visits to the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus. He departed from Novosibirsk International Airport in Russia earlier this morning, local time.

The Senior General had embarked on the state-level friendship visits to Russia and Belarus from March 3 to March 9. During his visit to Russia, he held separate meetings with the President of Russia, the Prime Minister, the Defense Minister, the Secretary of the Russian Security Council, the Chairman of the State Duma, the Chairman of the Federation Council, the Head of the Saint Petersburg Government, the Director-General of the State Space Corporation (ROSCOSMOS), and the Head of the Novosibirsk Regional Government. He also attended the Myanmar-Russia Economic Forum and participated in high-level bilateral discussions led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council and the President of Russia.

During the Russia visit, the two governments signed and exchanged 10 agreements and memoranda of understanding, including a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the peaceful use of nuclear energy and nuclear and radiation safety regulations.

Following his visit to Russia, the Senior General traveled to Belarus from March 6 to March 8 for a state-level friendship visit. In Belarus, he held separate meetings with the President of Belarus, the Prime Minister, the Chairman of the Council of the Republic, and the Deputy Prime Minister. He also attended the Myanmar-Belarus Economic Forum and participated in high-level bilateral discussions led by the Chairman of the State Administration Council and the President of Belarus.

During the visit, the two governments signed and exchanged several agreements and memoranda of understanding, including cooperation in sports, tourism, legal affairs, agriculture, and food safety.
