As the difficulty in buying fuel increases, some passenger bus lines in Mon State reduced their operations, according to some in-charge of the bus lines.

High way buses experienced not only difficulty in buying fuel but also lining up for a long time to get fuel at the filling stations. Above all, fuel can’t be bought as much as they want. Due to these hardships, high way bus lines faced difficulty in resuming their operation, according to an in-charge from Yangon-Mawlamyine bus line.

“We had hardships in recent days. We couldn’t buy as much as we want. We couldn’t buy fuel in Yangon and other towns. So, we can run only one vehicle instead of four vehicles,” said a man from Yangon-Mawlamyine bus line.

High way passenger bus lines in Mon State also faced difficulties to operate normal operation, according to bus line owners.

“As a result of political situation and clashes broke frequently in elsewhere, there are fewer passengers nowadays. To add the problem worse, getting fuel is another problem,” said an owner of the highway passenger bus.

There are at least 70 highway bus lines running from Mawlamyine to other states and regions.
