LOILAM------Over 1,000 locals already have been displaced by flash fighting between Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS) and Northern Alliance army took place in Mongkai Township, Loilam district, northern Shan State starting from September 14th, according to Tai Freedom which is the information center of RCSS.

The Tai Freedom also reported that about 400 members from northern alliance army which includes armed Shan State Progress Party-SSPP attacked the RCSS’s battalion in the morning of September 14th.

Due to the severe clash, over 1,000 locals fled to monasteries and nearby villages. The displaced villagers were children, pregnant women and elders.

As there has been military tension between RCSS and northern alliance army, the displaced victims are urgently in need of food, medicines and tents, according to Tai Freedom.
