Seven passengers die in head-on crash collision on Myawaddy-Dawna Mountain road

MYAWADDY----Seven passengers were died and 14 were injured in head-on crash collision on Myawaddy-Kawtkayeik-Dawna Mountain road in Myanmar-Thai border area yesterday evening, according to the sources.

The two vehicles collided near descending arch of Kyungyan village on Myawaddy-Dawna Mountain road, according to Thingannyinaung Social Welfare and Rescue Team.

“The passenger Hiace vehicle leaving from Kawtkareik Township turned over on Myawaddy-Dawna Mountain road. Later, the Hiace vehicle hit a bus carrying 21 peoples driving from Myawaddy Township to Kawtkareik. 7 passengers died on the spot and 14 were injured. Four ambulances owned by Thingannyinaung Social Welfare and Rescue Team and another two vehicles from Myawaddy and Malkanae Township sent the bodies and injured peoples to the Myawaddy hospital,” said unidentified official from Thingannyinaung Social Welfare and Rescue Team.

Likewise, 12 people were killed in a truck accident on Myawaddy-Dawna mountain road in Kayin State on October 6th , according to the sources.

The truck carrying the members from Pwint Naychi Dance Troupe and its related items turned over on Myawaddy-Kawtkayeik-Dawna Mountain road due to brake failure, according to one of the members rescue team. 

The social welfare organizations from Myawaddy, Kawtkayeik and Thingannyinaung arrived at the incident immediately and they carried out rescue operations.
