The embankment of Seidawgyi dam between Letthit village tract and Aigyi village tract in Patheingyi Township, Mandalay Region has been damaged since the evening of October 13, according to locals.
The embankment was totally burst open later in the evening, it is reported. As a result, there may be flooding in Ohn Chaw village tract and the environs of Mandalay. At present, many of the farmlands have been flooded.
Fire Services Department from Mandalay, Mandalay Region government, respective ministries and social organizations has been working in urgent for the repairing of the broken embankment.
