Sagaing United held a 1-1 draw with Yangon United in the first leg of semifinal of General Aung San Knockout Shield in Monywa Stadium in Sagaing Region on May 26.

The draw result brought both teams chances of advancing the final match and the second leg is the deciding factor.

Both teams have injured players and banned ones and used players in different situations of the team. Host Sagaing Utd made the bright start, opening attacking lines. Later Yangon Utd put pressure on the home team.

Sagaing Utd saw a lot of goal chances at the beginning of the game, but they could not be changed into goals. Yangon Utd opened the scoring with the good header of Ei Soe from the corner of Maung Maung Lwin at the 36th minute.

Sagaing Utd escalated its attacking momentum to level the match and saw an equalizer near the first half. The striker of Sagaing Utd leveled the match by shooting penalty.

In the second half, both teams geared up their attacking momentum and Sagaing achieved more chances, but they could not be changed into goals.

The second leg of Sagaing Utd and Yangon Utd will be held in Yangon on June 2.
