Sagaing Chief Minister absent from parliamentary sessions for over 170 days

Sagaing Region Chief Minister Dr Myint Naing has had a total of 176 days of absence from parliamentary attendance within the five-year term of the state parliament from 2015 to 2020.  

During the term of the National League for Democracy government, Sagaing Region Parliament held 25 regular sessions with 235 days. But the chief minister showed up in parliament only for 59 days. 

Kay Hsai, chairman of Naga Self-Administered Zone Leading Committee, also was absent from parliamentary sessions for 141 days. He attended the sessions only for 94 days. 

Likewise, Minister for Social Affairs Dr Zaw Win and Minister for Planning and Finance Soe Oo didn’t show up in parliamentary sessions for 69 days and 119 days respectively.  

Meanwhile, Minister for Shan Ethnic Affairs Hmway Hmway Khin were absent for 69 days, Minister for Chin Ethnic Affairs La Htaung Htan for 60 days, Minister for Electricity, Industry and Road Transport Than Nyunt Win for 59 days, Minister for Development Affairs Myint Kyi for 51 days, Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Kam Zar Mone for 49 days and Minister for Immigration and Human Resources Moe Kyaw Thu for 34 days.  

Sagaing Region Parliament Speaker U Than was absent for 11 days and Deputy Speaker Po Than Nyunt for 14 days.
