The State Administration Council (SAC) announced Decree No. (45/2024) on August 3 that Lt. Gen. Ni Lin Aung, who served as Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and Chief of Police, has returned to his original military duties.
In the statement, Lt. Gen. Ni Lin Aung, who had been appointed as the Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and jointly assigned the duty of Chief of Police of the Myanmar Police Force, was ordered to serve his original military duties in accord with the Article 419 of the Constitution.
On July 21, 2023, Lt. Gen. Ni Lin Aung was appointed as the Deputy Minister for Home Affairs and Chief of Police.
Chief of Police Major General Zin Min Htet, who was serving as the Myanmar Police Chief at that time, was transferred to the Ministry of Sports and Youth Affairs as Deputy Minister, so Lt. Gen. Ni Lin Aung was given joint responsibility as Chief of Police.
