The State Administration Council (SAC) issued a statement denying that there was a heavy weapon attack on Kokko police station in Myingyan Township, Mandalay Region, on December 21.
The statement said that no one was killed or injured in the incident.
Some online media outlets had reported that insurgents had launched 40 mm grenades at the police station, causing 8 deaths and 5 injuries.
However, the SAC said that an official from the Kokko police station had confirmed that there were no explosions on December 21 and that the police officers were carrying out their normal duties.
