Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov met with Myanmar’s ruling military counterpart U Wunna Maung Lwin in Naypyidaw on Wednesday (August 3).
His last visit to Myanmar was in January 2013.
According to the Twitter of MFA Russia, Sergey Lavrov is making a ‘working visit’ and will ‘hold talks with Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Wunna Maung Lwin and meet with the nation’s leaders.’
The post also said they will discuss the future development of the entire range of Russia-Myanmar relations.
Myanmar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has not released a news statement in regards to the meeting with Russian FM.
Lavrov is scheduled to travel on to an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) foreign ministers meeting in Cambodia.
