Due to the high number of COVID-19 confirmed patients, a stay-home order was issued for Rakhine State.
From 16 Aug.to 21 Sept. there have been 966 confirmed patients so that on average there has been an increase of 27 patients per day.
Although there had been only 16 lab tests confirmed patients in the state from 18 May to 15 Aug, there has been a surge in the number after that period.
There have been 966 confirmed cases from 16 Aug. to 20 Sept.and the day by day breakdown is as follows: 1 on 16 Aug., 3 on 18 Aug., 2 on 19 Aug., 13 on 20 Aug., 10 on 21 Aug., 24 on 22 Aug., 20 on 23 Aug., 8 on 24 Aug., 94 on 25 Aug., 10 on 26 Aug., 32 on 27 Aug., 20 on 28 Aug., 75 on 29 Aug., 32 on 30Aig., 48 on 31 Aug., 4 on 1 Sept., 52 on 2 Sept., 31 on 3 Sept., 9 on 4 Sept., 9 on 5 Sept., 38 on 6 Sept., 24 on 7 Sept., 6 on 8 Sept., 90 on 9 Sept., 19 on 10 Sept., 6 on 11 Sept., 34 on 12 Sept., 5 on 13 Sept., 45 on 14 Sept., 8 on 15 Sept., 80 on 16 Sept., 33 on 17 Sept., 27 on 18 Sept., 26 on 19 Sept., 27 on 20 Sept., as per information from the ministry of Health and Sports.
Townshipwise the number of infected patients in Rakhine State from 16 Aug. to 21 Sept. Is as follows: 546 in Sittwe township, 126 in Kyaukphyu township, 45 in Pauktaw township, 29 in Kyauktaw township, 29 in Minbyar township, 43 un Maungdaw township, 27 in Myaybon township, 55 in Myaukoo township, 19 in Ponnakyun township, 20 in Buthitaung township, 9 in Thandwe township, 8 in Taungghok township, 4 in Aan tiwnship, 2 in Yanbye township, 1 in Manaung township, 1 in Gwa township, 2 in Yathaytaung townahip, totaling 966.
On 18 Sept, of those infected by COVID-19, 278 patients have been discharged from Sittwe hospital with 208 patients still at the hospital, said Chief Medical Officer of the hospital, Dr Zaw Lwin.
These patients are from various walks of life. There were also patients from the Sittwe Police Station.
