The plan for ASEAN Special Envoy Erywan Yusof to meet with 8 political parties from Myanmar in Naypyidaw today (October 12th) has been rescheduled to tomorrow (October 13th), says a representative of Union Betterment Party (UBP).
“The meeting today has been rescheduled to tomorrow. The Union Election Commission told us that they will inform us when they know an exact time,” says the UBP representative.
Dr. Nandar Hla Myint, Spokesperson for the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP), confirmed that the plan for the eight political parties to meet with the Special Envoy today has been cancelled.
“The Union Election Commission (UEC) just informed us that the plan to meet with the Special Envoy has been cancelled. They said they will inform us later. You have to ask the UEC for the reason (behind this cancellation),” says Dr. Nandar Hla Myint.
The original plan was for the ASEAN Special Envoy Erywan Yusof to meet with 8 political parties from Myanmar at the UEC Office around 1pm on October 12th.
