Over 1,300 students cast advance votes in Mon State ahead of 2025 election

A total of 1,304 university, degree college, and college students in Mon State cast their advance votes, according to the State Sub-Election Commission.

Among students studying outside their home constituencies who will turn 18 years old by December 28, 2025, the first day of the election, and are therefore legally entitled to vote, the Union Election Commission (UEC) announced on November 15 that they could cast advance ballots before leaving for their respective institutions. From November 17 to November 21, between 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., eligible students were allowed to vote in advance by presenting their NRC card and their student identification card or admission documents issued by their university, degree college, or college at the ward or village election sub-commission office where they are registered.

Between November 17 and November 22, the advance votes cast in Mon State included 16 from Kyaikmaraw Township, 165 from Chaungzon Township, 78 from Mudon Township, 203 from Mawlamyine Township, 87 from Ye Township, 104 from Thanbyuzayat Township, 123 from Thaton Township, 45 from Paung Township, 153 from Kyaikhto Township, and 330 from Bilin Township, totaling 1,304 advance voters.

According to the Union Election Commission, a total of 28,339 university, degree college, and college students nationwide cast advance ballots within the designated voting period.
