When applying passports via online appointment system, online application fees of Ks. 35,000 must include at the same time according to the statement issued by the Myanmar passport issuance board dated February 23.
It also mentioned that previous appointments made by online booking were cancelled and new appointments must be made via online appointment system.
Passports can be applied for personally by means of new online booking system through the website www.passport.gov.mm from February 24, 2023 as per declaration by the Ministry of Information.
The online booking system will be effective only in the passport issuing office in Yangon and online application fees of Ks. 35,000 must include at the same time, it said.
For payment system, KBZ Pay and MPU bank cards can be made at the moment but arrangements are being made to include other payment systems.
After the payment has been made in the online booking system, it is no need to pay any cash at the passport issuing office and if the staffs ask for any cash, complaint can be made. Complaint phone numbers will be mentioned and action will be taken effectively, it added.
If the applicant faces difficulty in filling form, only form No.1 need to be filled at once and the other forms can be downloaded to fill later. It can be done by own handwriting or by using computer and at the appointment day, it must be brought.
Those who have difficulty in making online booking can ask for assistance at the police stations. The other offices in States and Regions, application forms will be carried out according to the previous system, it said.
