The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) has called on the PaO National Liberation Organization (PNLO) to collaborate with the government on the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) based peace process and regional development activities.

The NSPNC issued a statement on January 27, urging the PNLO to engage in dialogue, negotiation, and finding solutions for its political demands.

The statement comes after illegal weapons and ammunition were seized from individuals wearing PNLO uniforms on January 21 in Sanphu Village, Hopon Township, Shan State (South). The NSPNC warned the PNLO on January 23 that carrying ammunition is against the NCA agreements and affects regional peace and stability.

The PNLO group issued a statement on social media on January 26, which the NSPNC said ignores the basic principle of the NCA, which is to resolve the armed conflict peacefully through political means. The NSPNC further urged the PNLO to work together with the government to find solutions for its political demands.

The government has invited all armed organizations to find a solution through dialogue and held peace talks with 10 ethnic armed groups, obtaining good results and common agreements on peace and development.

The NSPNC statement said that the government is still open to meeting with all ethnic armed organizations. The statement added that the only way to meet and negotiate demands at the peace table is to avoid confrontation.
