Published 22 April 2026

The National Solidarity and Peacemaking Central Committee (NSPCC), under Announcement No. 1/2026 issued on April 21, has called on Ethnic Armed Organizations (EAOs) to acknowledge its peace invitation and engage in dialogue by July 31.

According to the statement, the NSPCC—led by the President of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar—believes that ending armed conflict and resolving political issues through political means are essential for advancing the peace process. It emphasized the importance of holding inclusive peace talks without preconditions in order to promote national development and stability.

The invitation urges EAOs that have signed the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) to work together, based on responsibility, accountability, and transparency, to fully implement the agreement and achieve lasting peace. It also calls on non-signatory EAOs to cooperate with the government in line with mutually agreed terms to foster development in their regions and build sustainable peace through dialogue.

Additionally, EAOs that have signed the NCA but have deviated from its path for various reasons are encouraged to resume political dialogue and seek solutions through open and constructive discussions.

The NSPCC has invited all relevant groups to participate in peace talks between April 21 and July 31, 2026, by recognizing the peace proposal.

Furthermore, it encouraged all stakeholders to support effective peace negotiations and urged relevant organizations to coordinate with the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee, which has been tasked by the government to carry out peace dialogue efforts, in order to serve the interests and aspirations of the ethnic population for peace.
