NLD winning election in all constituencies of Ayeyawady

The National League for Democracy (NLD) has won the election in all the constituencies of Ayeyawady Region including the places where the Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) won the 2015 election, according to initial local sources although the township election sub-commissions have yet to release the results for conformation.

According to NLD candidates and election victory committee member, the party is taking the leads with majority votes over its main rival USDP in all the constituencies of the region  for the lower house, upper house and regional parliament except the constituencies for ethnic affairs candidates.

NLD is also winning with a majority of votes in Kyauggon Township lower house constituency, Kangyidauk Township regional parliament constituency No (2), Kyaunggon Township regional parliament constituency No (1) and Ngapudaw Township constituency No (1) where the USDP won the 2015 election.  

The NLD, USDP, Kayin People’s Party and Kayin National Party contested the Kayin ethnic constituencies and the NLD is leading in all those constituencies.

The NLD, USDP, Union Betterment Party and Arakan National Party contested in the Rakhine ethnic constituencies. But according to initial results, the gap between the NLD and ANP over the availability of votes is narrow.
