Nearly 200 civilians arrested during 22222 protests in Nay Pyi Taw

Nearly 200 peaceful protestors were arrested by police and military on 22222 protest held in Nay Pyi Taw on 22.2.2021 where 182 were released and 8 were charged with Natural Disaster Law.

The arrested people were taken to police battalion 20 in Nay Pyi Taw and interrogations were made. Then, they had to sign the confession letter according to a man arrested by police.

“They asked us who gave cash for transportation and fuel charges. In the confession letter, the word “arrest will be made if we participate in another protest” was excluded. Most of the detainees were released today,” said a man freed from the police.

Charges for motorcycles were Ks.100,000 and those who want to take their cycle must give that cash to police.
