The second day of the 10th anniversary of the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) is held on the morning of October 16 at the International Convention Center-1 in Nay Pyi Taw.
The morning session of the second day will focus on reviewing the role of political parties in conflict resolution and public participation in elections.
The program will cover issues such as elections, local governance and post-election processes, the role of civilians, political parties, civil society organizations and peace brokers in the peace process, humanitarian assistance and confidence building, third-party mediation and negotiation, etc.
The program will be moderated by U Aung Naing Oo, and speakers will include H.E. Mr. Damrong Kraikruan, former Ambassador of Thailand to Malaysia and Laos, Mr. Karisma Putera Abd Rahman, Senior Researcher of Bait Al Amanah Research Institute, Malaysia, and Dr. Samatha Mallempati from Indian Council of World Affairs (ICWA).
A series of questions and discussions were also held by the attendees.
