Layshi Township in Sagaing Region, COVID-19 control and emergency response committee has issued a statement that Sommara-Rannway-Htamanthi road will be temporarily closed to contain the COVID-19 in the region as there were some COVID-19 cases found in the region.
Passengers travelling from the passenger bus line of Layshi-Htamanthi were tested with rapid antigen test kits on December 2. It was found out that a nine years old girl and 25 years old woman from no-1 ward, Sommara tested COVID-19 positive. Therefore, the rest of the family members and the passengers riding together with them will also be tested.
As a result, Sommara-Rannway-Htamanthi will be temporarily closed for bikes and motorcycles and vehicles, it stated.
It is reported that Sagaing Region has 988 positive patients, 707 were discharged from the hospitals and 2 deaths.
