Myanmar found 1,276 new COVID-19 confirmed patients and 22 more have died, announced the Ministry of Health and Sports (MOHS) on the night of December 7.
19,379 samples were tested from December 6 at 8:00 pm to December 7 at 8:00 pm, and found new 1,276 new COVID-19 patients.
A total of 1,604 people were allowed to be discharged from the hospitals, bringing the total number of people free from the virus to 79,240.
Among the 22 deaths, 19 had underlying chronic medical conditions. Up to 2,110 patients have died from the virus, it said.
It said 1,307,744 samples were tested till December 7 and found 100,431 patients so far and 79,240 people were recovered from the virus with 2,132 deaths.
A total of 931 people, who had close contact with positive patients in Yangon Region and tested negative, are put in home quarantine, it said.
Hospitals in Yangon Region are testing COVID-19 suspects using rapid antigen diagnostic test kits and there are people who lost their sense of smell and taste included, announced the MOHS.
