According to reports from Thailand, a Myanmar salesclerk working at a shop selling Myanmar products has been arrested.
On March 12, Thai authorities conducted an inspection at a retail store selling Myanmar goods in the Koh Samui area of Surat Thani province in southern Thailand. The Khaosod English news outlet reported that the authorities examined the workers at the store, which sold a variety of goods.
During the inspection, a 35-year-old Myanmar woman was found working at the store. She had been employed as a salesclerk for seven months and was earning 12,000 baht per month, according to the report.
The Myanmar salesclerk has been charged by Thai authorities for working in a job prohibited for foreigners, operating without a license, and selling unregistered medicines. Additionally, 60 types of goods imported from Myanmar were seized during the operation, as reported in the news.
