Thai authorities arrested 26 undocumented Myanmar nationals, including four children, in Sangkhlaburi District, Kanchanaburi Province, over a four-day period, according to Thai media reports.
On the night of July 4, Thai security forces on patrol near Ban Sam Lang, close to the Three Pagodas Pass area, detained 15 Myanmar nationals—four men and 11 women—after finding them hiding near a forest. None were able to produce valid identification documents.
In a separate operation during the early hours of July 6, police patrolling Nong Lu subdistrict arrested another 11 Myanmar nationals, including seven adults and four children, after questioning a suspicious group.
Thai media reported that all 26 migrants had entered Thailand illegally through unofficial routes from the Myanmar side of the Three Pagodas Pass border area and were unable to provide legal travel documents.
The group has been charged with illegally entering and staying in Thailand without permission and has been handed over to investigators at Sangkhlaburi Police Station for further legal proceedings.
