Myanmar repatriates 268 more illegal Chinese migrants

Myanmar has again transferred 268 Chinese citizens illegally staying in the border areas to China on December 23 according to MRTV news broadcast.

Some foreign nationals are found to be illegally entering and living in Myanmar through the border areas, the administrative organizations are conducting the necessary verifications and handing them back to the relevant countries so that they can act in accordance with the law.

At present, a total of 268 Chinese citizens (229 males and 39 females) have been transferred from Myanmar to China from December 16 to 23.

From October 31 to December 23, a total of 12,316 Chinese citizens (10,914 males and1,402 females) have been transferred from Myanmar to China. They have been screened according to the law and have been systematically handed over to Chinese officials.

The government said it will continue work for screening and transferring of foreigners illegally staying in Myanmar.
