Myanmar President Receives Chinese Heilongjiang Delegation to Discuss Bilateral Cooperation

A delegation led by Mr. Xu Qin, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Heilongjiang Province and Secretary of the Communist Party of China Heilongjiang Provincial Committee, paid a courtesy call on President U Min Aung Hlaing at the Presidential Guest Hall in Nay Pyi Taw,yesterday morning, it is reported.

During the meeting, discussions focused on the long-standing friendship and cooperation between the two countries and their leaders, as well as the “pauk-phaw” (fraternal) relationship between Myanmar and China. Both sides exchanged views on building a shared community in line with the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, enhancing cooperation between Myanmar and Heilongjiang Province, and further strengthening bilateral relations.

They also discussed mutual high-level visits between leaders of the two countries, and expanding cooperation across multiple sectors including science and technology, industry, agriculture, security, tourism, health, culture, youth affairs, and education. In addition, both sides explored opportunities to cooperate in agricultural production and technology development to boost the agricultural sector, as well as to expand collaboration in the energy sector.

Efforts to promote investment and trade between the two countries were also highlighted, particularly through the Myanmar-China Investment and Trade Promotion Association (MCITP). The discussions also covered the establishment of sister-city relations between Harbin in China and Yangon in Myanmar, as well as further strengthening comprehensive cooperation between Myanmar and Heilongjiang Province.

The meeting was attended by Union Minister for the President’s Office U Khin Maung Yi, Union Minister for Foreign Affairs U Than Maung Swe, and Chairman of the Nay Pyi Taw Council U Kan Myint Than, alongside the President. The Chinese delegation was accompanied by H.E. Ms. Ma Jia, Chinese Ambassador to Myanmar, and other officials.
