A Myanmar Air Force fighter aircraft crashed near Hmawbi Township, Yangon Region, on the morning of 3 August after suffering a bird strike during a training flight, according to available information.

The incident occurred at around 5:16 am when the aircraft was flying near Nyaunghnabin Village, approximately 8.5 kilometres southeast of Hmawbi. A bird reportedly struck the aircraft and was drawn into the engine, causing an engine fire.

The pilot reportedly steered the aircraft away from residential areas before ejecting safely. The aircraft subsequently crashed in a non-populated area.

Security personnel have been deployed to the crash site to carry out necessary security measures. Reports said no aircrew members were injured in the incident.
