Nay Pyi Taw- An international conference discussing Myanmar’s challenges and opportunities in the evolving multipolar world was held today at the International Convention Center-1 in Nay Pyi Taw.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Chairman of the State Administration Council (SAC) and Prime Minister of Myanmar, delivered the keynote address. The event was attended by SAC officials, ministers, deputy ministers, representatives of political parties, and experts from countries including India, China, Russia, Thailand, Nepal, Japan, and Italy, bringing together a total of 230 participants.
In his speech, Min Aung Hlaing highlighted the significance of the conference as a platform where international experts could provide insights into Myanmar’s future prospects amid global shifts. He noted that Myanmar must navigate its place in a world increasingly shaped by regional blocs and a redistribution of power among major nations.
He emphasized that the traditional dominance of a single global superpower has given way to a more balanced distribution of influence. Nations such as China, India, Russia, and the European Union are emerging as key players, reshaping international relations and reducing unilateral control over global affairs. As a result, no single country can unilaterally dictate global outcomes, he said.
Union Minister for Information Maung Maung Ohn and other distinguished experts also addressed the gathering.
The conference featured discussions on Myanmar and Asia’s role in the changing global order, as well as Myanmar’s geopolitical and economic challenges beyond 2025. Participants explored the country’s potential strategies for engagement in an increasingly multipolar world.
