Myanmar Chief of General Staff attends Field Training Exercise held in Russia

Chief of the General Staff (Army, Navy and Air) General Maung Maung Aye attended the Field Training Exercise of the ASEAN Plus Counter-Terrorism Expert Task Force held at the Sergeevsky training ground in Primorsky Krai of Vladivostok from September 26 to 29.

 The General Staff visited the Pacific Naval Fleet at Far Eastern Federal University-FEFU and viewed preparations of Myanmar Tatmadaw and control squads of Russian Armed Forces.

On 26 September, the General attended the field training exercise of ASEAN Plus Counter-Terrorism Expert Task Force at the Sergeevsky training ground in Vladivostok together with officials from Russian Armed Forces,officials and other ranks from ASEAN and partner countries. He also visited the training camp of troops from the field training exercise.

 At Suvorov Military School in Ussuriysk, the General viewed round the training halls, teaching aid lecture halls, gymnasiums, mess hall and hostels.

On 27 September, the General held a meeting with Admiral Viktor Nikolayevich Liina, Chief of Pacific Naval Fleet at House of Naval Officers meeting room of the headquarters. They discussed further promotion of cooperation between two armed forces, and measures on field training exercise. He also attended the dinner hosted by Admiral Viktor Nikolayevich Liina. On 28 September, the General visited Frigate 543 Marshal Shaposhnikov and No 19 Submarine Corps.

On 29 September, the General delivered a speech at the concluding ceremony of the field training exercise. He also attended the dinner hosted by Chief of Pacific Naval Fleet Admiral Viktor Nikolayevich Liina. Yesterday, the General arrived back in Myanmar.

The field training exercise was conducted at Primorsky Krai of Vladivostok from 26 to 29 September. On 29 September, the troops from various countries in the field training exercise successfully performed the practical exercise to combat the area controlled by terrorists with the supporting fire of relevant military corps.

During the training period, delegates from various countries visited the Anna Shchetinina woman hero statue, Glavnaya Ploshchad square, Pacific Navy Fleet museum, the submarine museum, the marine museum and the Russian historical museum. 

In order to combat terrorists and terrorism, the table top exercise was held in Nay Pyi Taw of Myanmar from 2 to 4 August and the Field Training Exercise in Vladivostok of Russian from 26 to 29 September.
