A three-day “Ayeyarwady–Yangtze Traditional Culture and Regional Development Festival” will be held in Mandalay, according to a press conference held at the Kyin Taw Yan Buddhist Temple on July 21.

The festival, organized by the Mandalay branch of the Myanmar–China Friendship Association (Central), is scheduled to take place at the Mandalay Convention Center in Chanmyathazi Township, Mandalay, from November 1 to November 3.

During the event announcing the festival to the public, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was also signed among the Mandalay Region Youth Entrepreneurs Association (MRYEA), the Mandalay branch of the Myanmar Youth Development Association (Central), and the Mandalay branch of the Myanmar–China Friendship Association (Central).

Officials said the festival is aimed at strengthening China–Myanmar friendship, promoting regional development, and expanding opportunities for foreign investment. Planned activities include B2B matching sessions involving international embassies, companies, and organizations, panel discussions featuring business experts, and additional MoU signing ceremonies.

The festival will also showcase traditional cultural activities and competitions, including contests related to Myanmar’s traditional thanaka, tea, and acheik weaving, as well as Chinese calligraphy, traditional paper-cutting art, and quiz competitions.

The announcement ceremony was attended by U Sai Aung Kyi, Shan Ethnic Affairs Minister of the Mandalay Region Government, U Kyaw Min, Chairman of the Mandalay branch of the Myanmar–China Friendship Association (Central), along with representatives of various organizations and members of the business community.
