More than 180 persons comprising of COVID-19 confirmed patients from Meikhtila District hospital, those in quarantine centres on the township, and personnel from Red Cross Brigade, are being provided three meals a day daily by donors under the auspices of social welfare groups, and more such donors are needed.
The number of confirmed cases in Meikhtila has been obtained. Those that have had contact with these confirmed patients are sought after and placed in quarantine. Some have been brought to quarantine to prevent the spread of virus, and there are others who don't bring along sufficient clothes. Ko Sung San, one member from a Meikhtila social welfare group, said that we feel it our responsibility to whoever is in quarantine. With whatever tbat has been donated by well wishers and donors we give three meals a day daily to those in quarantine, those that provide voluntary service, the Red Cross Brigade, and Fire Brigade personnel.
The total number, including the number of covid confirmed patients in quarantine, is 180. We welcome those who wish to prepare meals on their own. At the rate of K1000 per meal, it comes to K180,000. We warmly welcome donors, said Ko Aung San.
