The Ministry of Labour has directed that only 10 workers per month may be submitted in new job applications for fishery workers (E-10-2) and shipyard skilled workers (E-7-3) bound for South Korea.
Labour export agencies must now submit no more than 10 new job applications per month, with each agency allowed only one submission per month. Additionally, contracts signed before January 30 must be revised to comply with the 10-worker limit and resubmitted. The ministry will begin accepting new applications starting May 2.
This follows recent restrictions on labour exports to other countries, including: Thailand: Max 50 workers per application, one submission per month and Japan: Max 15 workers per application, one submission per month.
Agencies sending workers to Thailand must resubmit revised applications (not exceeding 50 workers) by March 25, while those sending workers to Japan must resubmit applications (not exceeding 15 workers).
Agencies must submit documents two weeks in advance for Overseas Worker Identification Card (OWIC) processing, including copies of labour contracts and work permit approvals.
Workers must be sent within one week of receiving approval. If not, agencies must restart the application process.
Agencies must immediately report to the Department of Labour if workers arrive in the destination country or return to Myanmar, along with relevant documentation.
