Police came to the National League for Democracy headquarters in Yangon Region to search for Central Executive Committee members Dr May Win Myint and Aung Kyi Nyunt, said Ba Myo Thein, a representative of the upper house elected in the November 8 election, on the late afternoon of February 15. 

He said security forces tried to enter the party office at about 2.45 pm and conduct a search. But they were stopped by those in the office who waited for a while. The gate was opened at about 4.30 pm after the security forces said they were there to search for the two NLD’s CEC members. 

At that time, there were about 10 NLD members including Ba Myo Thein in the office. 

Currently, members of the military and police are searching all the floors of the NLD office.
