Marine trade increases by 1.24 bln dollars this FY

Till 24 January of the 2019-2020 fiscal year, marine trade earnings reached 8.779 billion US dollars, up 1.245 billion US dollars compared with the same period last year, according to the Commerce Ministry. 

Last year at this time, the marine trade earnings amounted to 7.533 billion US dollars. 

During this period, exports via sea route reached 3.477 billion US dollars, up over 680 million US dollars. Imports via sea route exceeded 5.3 billion US dollars, over 560 million US dollars compared with the same period last year. 

Myanmar’s major export items are: agro products, animal products, marine products, mining products, forest products, CMP products and other goods. 

Myanmar imports capital goods, industrial raw materials, personal goods, CMP raw materials and other goods. 

In 2018-19 FY, the total trade value hit 34.979 billion US dollars, up over 3.8 billion US dollars than its target, according to the Commerce Ministry.
