Local fuel prices drop continuously

Fuel prices continued to decline, reducing to 2,120 kyats per liter for 92 Ron, according to the fuel stations.

On October 2, fuel prices are 2,120 kyats per litre for 92 Ron, 2,215 kyats per litre for 95 Ron, 2,540 kyats per litre for premium diesel in the market. 

On September 30, fuel prices are 2,185 kyats per litre for 92 Ron, 2,280 kyats per litre for 95 Ron, 2,670 kyats per litre for premium diesel and 2,595kyats per litre for diesel in the market. 

On September 18, fuel prices are 2,440 kyats per litre for 92 Ron, 2,565 kyats per litre for 95 Ron, 2,725 kyats per litre for premium diesel and 2,650 kyats per litre for diesel in the market.

After fuel prices had risen in the middle of September, it fell down for consecutive days. On September 23, fuel price is under 2,300 kyats per litre for 92 Ron.

During the August, the fuel price is over 2,220 kyats per litre for 92 Ron in Yangon.

On August 7, the lowest price of fuel sold in Yangon was 1,615 kyats per litre for 92 Ron, 1,665 kyats per litre for 95 Ron, 1,970 kyats per litre for diesel and 2,025 kyats per litre for premium diesel.

On August 12, fuel prices are 2,285 kyats per litre for 92 Ron, 2,395 kyats per litre for 95 Ron, 2,535 kyats per litre for premium diesel and 2,460 kyats per litre for diesel in the market.

Fuel prices rose after the Central Bank Myanmar increased the exchange rate to 2,100 kyats per dollar.

Myanmar is not importing fuel from China via Sri Lanka and mainly imported from Singapore, Malaysia and South Korea. About 90 per cent of fuel consumption is imported for domestic consumption, with about 10 per cent of the country's production in the country.
