Karen National Union (KNU) will implement the agreements included in nationwide ceasefire agreement (NCA) in addition to concrete ceasefire through political talks, announced the KNU on January 11 after negotiation between Tatmadaw delegation led by Maj-Gen Myo Win, Commander of Southern Command and representatives of the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) led by Brig-Gen Saw Tar Malar Taw at the liaison office of KNU in Kyaukkyi, Bago Region on January 10.

Both sides discussed about the construction of roads from Tanbo to Bawsekho in Kyaukkyi Township for providing provisions to army bases. The result of the discussion is satisfactory, said Col. Kyaw Soe Moe, spokesperson of Southern Command.

Both sides met at the same liaison office on December 27 at the first time.
