Govt. supplies laboratory equipment and medicines to temporary public hospital opened in Falam, Chin State

The government has supplied laboratory equipment and medicines to the temporary public hospital operating in Falam, Chin State, as part of ongoing rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts, according to local sources.

Deputy Minister for Construction U Myo Myint, accompanied by members of the Chin State Rehabilitation and Reconstruction Committee, visited the temporary Falam Public Hospital on July 10.

During the visit, township officials, the hospital superintendent and medical staff briefed the delegation on the hospital's preparedness, including its mobile operating room, water and electricity supply, expansion plans, laboratory facilities, medical supplies and healthcare services. The Deputy Minister coordinated with relevant officials to ensure that the laboratory equipment and medicines required by the hospital would continue to be provided in a timely manner.

The delegation also inspected the laboratory equipment installed in the temporary operating room and the storage of medicines before officially handing over the required laboratory equipment and medical supplies to the hospital superintendent.

The temporary public hospital, staffed by the superintendent and 84 healthcare workers, has provided medical treatment to 1,424 patients.

Temporary township public hospitals have also been opened in Tiddim, Tonzang and Falam townships. A total of 285 doctors and healthcare workers have treated 13,677 patients, while medicines and other medical supplies have been delivered to support healthcare services.

During the trip, the Deputy Minister and the delegation also inspected the Myanma Economic Bank branch operating at the Township General Administration Department in Falam, where they reviewed banking services provided to the public and staff working conditions.

The delegation later met with personnel from the Public Service Office (One Stop Shop), the Township General Administration Department, and village tract and village administrators to discuss ongoing administrative and rehabilitation activities.
