A fire broke out in Hinthada Township after a voltage stabilizer overheated, according to sources.
The incident occurred on the top floor of the "Thein" Innex Bathroom and Home Decoration Tiles and Tiles Store, located in the North Garden Ward, Hinthada Township.
“A fire was reported at around 11:05 am on June 7. Fire trucks from the township and district level were dispatched to put out the fire. The fire broke out on the top floor. The door, ceiling, bed, and household appliances on the top floor caught fire. It was in the center of Hinthada Township and there were also adjacent houses, so we took precautions to prevent the fire from spreading,” said an official from Myanmar Fire Services Department (MFSD).
The cause of the fire was the voltage stabilizer overheating, which ignited the blankets on the voltage stabilizer, the MFSD official said.
“Our association also helped with the firefighting efforts. Two ambulances were also on standby to transport any emergency patients to the hospital. No patients needed to be taken to the hospital. The medical team did help one person who was injured in the leg by a burnt nail, and another people who were injured in the hand by a sheet of metal,” said Ko Phyo Thura Kyaw, a volunteer in charge of the Hinthada District Network Ambulance Team.
Six fire engines and four water bowsers from the Hinthada District and Township Fire Stations were dispatched to the scene of the fire.
